As a team we work with many partners and groups (e.g. communities, Ministry staff, clinic staff, health care practitioners, Division and Health Authority staff, and academics), in alignment with the WHO Healthcare Partners pentagram.

Friends of the ISU
We also collaborate with a small group of 20-30 Friends of the ISU, including past ISU staff, previous partners, academics, and providers from five provinces across Canada. They have a deep professional or clinical interest in enhancing primary care and often act as a bit of a sounding board for our work and provide us with advice, guidance or direction. And sometimes we get to work on projects together! Often they connect with the ISU through:
- Overlapping research interests: Academics may partner with us on a specific research project or to inform or use our work in their own research.
- Clinical Questions: Clinicians approach us with a specific burning question that we can help answer. We can sometimes provide clinical buyout time (1/2-1 day per week for the duration of the project) and/or some time from one of us, to help explore the problem space through a learning cycle.
If you are interested in collaborating on a new or existing project or become a Friend of the ISU, we would love to connect! Send us an email to isu@familymed.ubc.ca.
