Mehr Virk, Primary Care Research Analyst Co-op

I am thankful to work and live on the shared lands of the Lekwungen peoples, including the Songhees, Esquimalt and WSÁNEĆ peoples, who’s historical relationships continue to this day. I’m currently a third-year student in the Health Information Science program at the University of Victoria, and I’m excited to be spending my co-op term with the ISU as a Primary Care Research Analyst.

With my growing interest in primary and community care systems, I am looking forward to better understand how research and collaboration can lead to improvements in the delivery of care. I’m primarily interested in learning more about how healthcare teams across BC work together to meet community needs, and how technology and information systems can support more integrated and patient-centered care.

Outside of work and school, I enjoy staying active and spending as much time as I can outdoors! Whether that’s going on a run, doing yoga, hiking through the forests and trails around the Island, or simply finding new places to explore in nature! You can connect with me at mehr.virk@ubc.ca!
